The D/FW Curling Club offers public Learn-to-Curls to introduce new players to this sport we love so much. No prior curling experience is required or recommended to register. If you saw curling on TV at the Olympics and thought you would like to try it, this is the perfect program for you. We have a team of expert instructors who generously and gladly volunteer their time to teach new players all about curling while fostering a fun, positive learning environment.
Our public Learn-to-Curls are 2.5-hour events, with 0.5 hour of off-ice instruction and 2 hours of on-ice instruction. At a Learn-to-Curl, you will learn the general rules of curling, ice safety, how to deliver a stone, how to sweep a stone, and you will play a shortened game. Throughout the event, our instructors will be on hand to answer questions and assist with troubleshooting problem areas should they arise.
We recommend wearing warm, athletic clothes. Jeans are too stiff for curling and don't stretch well. We require tennis shoes and cannot let anyone on the ice who is wearing anything other than tennis shoes. This means no dress shoes, high heels/heels of any sort, bare feet, sandals, hiking boots, snow boots, Toms, Uggs, or opened-toed shoes of any kind. If you do not wear appropriate footwear, we cannot let you on the ice. Refunds or transfer of dates will not be given for those who show without proper footwear.
All ages are welcome to participate in this event and we have delivery sticks for those who cannot squat down and slide out of the hack.
Our home rink is the Children’s Health StarCenter at 211 Cowboys Parkway, Irving, Texas 75063. Public Learn-to-Curls cost $50 per person and advance payment in full is required for attendance. **Due to the cost of renting the ice, we cannot provide refunds or transfer the date of the event to another date. All sales are final.**

Since 2002, our club has been focused on growing the sport of curling in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan area. We do this by increasing awareness of the sport and attracting athletes interested in local, national, and international competition and by training those athletes for competition.
We stand as an example of how far south the appeal of the sport has reached. Guests and spectators are always welcome to visit our club and watch live curling games during league play and special events. League games are played Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons starting in early October and continuing through the spring until mid-March!
The D/FW Curling Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit private foundation.
